Center Applauds Supreme Court Decision to Let Judgement Stand in "Nuremberg Files" Case

Statement By Nancy Northup, President of Center for Reproductive Rights

"The Center for Reproductive Rights applauds today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision to deny an appeal by anti-abortion protestors who had used ‘wanted’ posters to threaten and intimidate abortion providers. By leaving intact a lower court judgment against those who crossed the line between free expression and threats of violence, the Court has sent a clear message that the illegal intimidation of doctors providing much-needed medical care must stop."

"During the past decade, those who provide reproductive health services, including family planning and abortion, have had to face everything from blockades to bombs, from anthrax threats to murder. We hope this decision will help pave the way to a day when those who provide much needed medical care will not have to live in fear for their lives."

Planned Parenthood v. American Coalition of Life Activists (ACLA) was brought by Planned Parenthood after the ACLA started distributing "wanted" posters targeting abortion providers.
