The Anti Agencies: State Department & USAID

The Anti Agencies:
State Department and USAID

Since taking office, President Donald Trump has assembled an administration filled with individuals determined to dismantle women’s access to reproductive health care. Most of them have been appointed to positions that don’t require confirmation hearings, giving the American people no opportunity to hear their viewpoints on important issues and no opportunity for members of Congress to weigh in.

Responsible for enforcing laws, administering programs, making funding decisions, and collecting and analyzing data, these officials are laying the groundwork for battles over birth control, abortion, and the science that supports public health. Many are anti-abortion, anti-woman, anti-health, anti-contraception, and anti-science, and hold views that seem contrary to the support of basic freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.

So, who are these administrators that President Trump has chosen to run his government agencies? The Center for Reproductive Rights is monitoring the administration's appointments, remaining alert to hostility to women's health and reproductive access. Click each circle for more information.
