Internship Summary: The Center’s Development Department is looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and organized intern with a commitment to reproductive rights issues to support our fundraising and pro bono efforts. The Development Intern will be responsible for a variety of donor engagement and outreach, data management, and administrative tasks. The Intern should also expect to work on a special project based on their interests. 

The Center’s Summer Internship Program is full-time from June 3, 2019 through August 9, 2019 and is based in New York, NY. The position will be paid on an hourly basis. 

The program includes opportunities for lunches with experts in the field, social events, networking with non-profits organizations and law firms, and other activities. 


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Assisting with special events logistics; 
  • Assisting with the execution of mailings; 
  • Conducting research on individuals and institutional prospects; 
  • Maintaining donor records; 
  • Managing special projects related to donor outreach and research; and 
  • Assisting with general administrative duties. 


  • Enrolled as an undergraduate student at a college or university; 
  • Strong commitment to the Center’s mission, purpose, and values; 
  • Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion; 
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills; 
  • Excellent online research skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint;
  • Experience working with Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software is a plus; and 
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and sensitivity to donor confidentiality issues.
