Internship Summary: The Center's Development department is looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and highly organized participant in our summer program with a commitment to reproductive rights issues to support our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position will be responsible for providing support to the development team as well as performing other fundraising and administrative related tasks as needed.

The summer program is full-time from June 4, 2018 through August 10, 2018 and is based in New York, NY. The position will be paid on an hourly basis.

The Center's summer program includes opportunities for lunches with experts in the field, social events, networking opportunities with other organizations, and other activities.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with special events logistics;
  • Assisting with the execution of mailings;
  • Conducting research on individuals and institutional prospects;
  • Maintaining donor records;
  • Managing special projects related to donor outreach and research; and
  • Assisting with general administrative duties.


  • Candidate must be enrolled in a college or university and must be a Bachelor's or Master's candidate on a full-time basis for the Fall 2018 semester;
  • Demonstrated administrative skills;
  • Skills in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel;
  • Exceptional online research skills;
  • Experience working with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising software is a plus; and
  • High level of discretion and sensitivity to donor confidentiality issues.
