Internship Summary: The Center's Lawyers Network is a new initiative that builds knowledge and support for an array of reproductive rights issues by engaging with legal leaders from law firms, corporate legal departments, not-for-profits and other areas of the profession through bar associations. The Lawyers Network team is looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and highly organized intern with a commitment to reproductive rights and reproductive justice issues to engage in a variety of projects related to our work. The internship will provide the successful candidate with experience in the day-to-day operations of an exciting initiative within a dynamic public interest law organization, including legal and factual research and writing.

The internship is full-time for ten weeks from June 2018 through August 2018. The internship will be based in the Center's Washington, D.C. office. Interns are encouraged to seek outside funding for their internship. This position is eligible for a small stipend if outside funding cannot be obtained.

The Center's summer internship program includes opportunities for lunches with experts in the field, social events, networking opportunities with other organizations, and other activities.


  • The scope of the internship will cover, but is not limited to:
  • Conducting in-depth legal and factual research and analysis in connection with active and potential U.S.-focused initiatives; and
  • Working with members of the Lawyers Network team to develop legal education and advocacy materials.


  • Completed at least one year of law school by June 2018;
  • Strong legal research and writing skills; and
  • Demonstrated interest in human rights, gender justice, reproductive rights, reproductive justice, and/or public interest work.
