Internship Summary: The Center for Reproductive Rights is at the forefront of engaging international human rights norms and strategies to advance and promote reproductive health and rights within the United States. The Center’s U.S. Human Rights team is looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and highly organized intern with a commitment to reproductive rights and reproductive justice issues to engage in a variety of projects related to our work. The internship will provide the successful candidate with experience in researching, analyzing, and developing human rights strategies to advance the full spectrum of reproductive rights in the United States, and will include work focused on maternal  health and assisted reproductive technologies.  

The internship is full-time from June 2018 through August 2018. Interns will work in the Center’s New York office. Interns are encouraged to seek outside funding for their internship.  This internship is eligible for a small stipend if outside funding cannot be obtained.

The Center’s summer internship program includes opportunities for lunches with experts in the field, social events, networking opportunities with other organizations, and other activities.

Responsibilities:

  • The scope of the internship will cover, but is not limited to:
  • Conducting legal, factual, and other research and analysis in connection with active and potential U.S. human rights advocacy initiatives;
  • Working with members of our U.S. Human Rights team to develop human rights advocacy materials.

Qualifications:  

  • Completed at least one year of law school by May 2018;
  • Strong legal research and writing skills; and
  • Demonstrated interest in public interest, human rights, gender justice, reproductive rights, and/or reproductive justice.
