Marta González

Marta González, Legal Advisor for Latin America & the Caribbean

Marta joined the Center in 2016. As Legal Advisor for Latin America & the Caribbean, she focuses on strategic litigation and legal advocacy, mainly before the Inter-American Human Rights System regarding cases and precautionary measures.

She came from the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL), where she conducted legal and policy research and analysis on international law, supported the legal staff on litigation strategy, and monitored the implementation of the precautionary measures adopted by the Inter-American Commission and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in order to protect human rights defenders, indigenous communities, and justice operators whose lives are at stake. Prior to that, she was a professional visitant at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Marta received her Master in Human Rights and Governance from the Autonoma University and her degrees in law and business administration from the Carlos III University, both in Madrid, Spain.

She is fluent in Spanish and French.
